Artist's Comments

so after spending 4 hours in a coffee shop drinking tea i actually finished it. i'm starting to get a feeling that i'm posting things that aren't finished just for sake of posting it. that troubles me a bit. going to have to work on self control, anyways here is another one... tell me what you think or not

The posting part can give a rush which in turn influences you in your decision regarding when the drawing is finished. As you say I also think it comes down to self control and waiting until you yourself is totally satisfied with the result would only bring you more gratification. Posting before it is finished can be useful if you need some serious criticism, though personally I think this is hard to find here on dA.

I really like the face in the middle, the solid expression and form gives the whole drawing a certain mood, a mood that in turn defines the drawing. From a pattern point of view it still seem to be slightly unfinished. Many places you have these really thin lines and on other places you have small and smaller dots, these two patterns adds another level of intricacy to your drawing and thus lifts the beauty and experience of looking at it. I'm mentioning this because you seem to strive for a form of symmetry and in the top right quarter of the drawing there are no such thin lines making it look somewhat naked in that area. Then again, maybe it is just me :D

wow, this is fantatic.. great symmetry

what impresses me is the "false" symmetry. some forms are inverted, some absent. i wonder, though, if the placement of the head is the most effective. for example, what would happen if the face were slightly more to the left? or if she was looking slightly to her left, as opposed to straight forward?

interesting point. i think that if the head was moved to the left of right it would loose the false symmetry and not look right. on the other hand if the eyes would look to one side or other, or if the head was moved down or up, i think it would look better. unfortunatly i drew the head first so i'm stuck with what i got. :D
